What is sound healing with the voice?

Sound Healing with the Voice is the use of vocal vibrations and their resonance—within the singer’s or listener’s body—with the intention to support healing and well-being.

What do we mean by healing?

Healing is the process of restoring balance and harmony within the body. When all systems work together in sync, the body can adapt, self-regulate, and thrive. Sound helps activate and support this natural process.

What form can it take?

Vocal sound healing can take different forms:

  • Using your own voice to direct vibration into your body
  • Receiving sound from another person or group, with or without instruments

In all cases, the voice becomes a powerful tool to realign and restore your body’s natural equilibrium.

How can it help?

  • Deep Relaxation and Stress Reduction
  • Improved Sleep
  • Emotional Balance and confidence
  • Pain Management by promoting the release of endorphins and reducing muscle tension.
  • Enhanced Focus and Clarity
  • Physical Healing
  • Spiritual Awakening
  • General support through changes and life challenges

How does it work?

Sound healing with the voice is based on three key laws:

  • The law of vibration: Everything in and around us is in constant motion from cells and atoms to thoughts and emotions. This motion, known as vibration, occurs at a specific rate of oscillation called frequency. The law of vibration states that everything is vibration.
  • The law of Entrainment explains how, exposed to a stronger, harmonious vibration, the body’s systems naturally synchronize with it, promoting balance.
  • The Law of Resonance: when sound matches the natural frequency of the body, it amplifies and enhances healing.

Together, these principles explain how vocal sound can help “retune” the body and restore harmony.

The Power of Intention

Sound is most effective when paired with clear, focused intention. As Jonathan Goldman says, “Frequency + Intention = Healing.” Releasing attachment to outcomes allows healing to unfold naturally. In sound healing, the practitioner’s role is to support—not fix—the person’s journey.

Why it works

Sound healing is both holistic and immersive. It affects every layer of our being—physical, emotional, mental, and energetic. Sound can shift brainwaves, calm the nervous system, and bring us into a meditative, receptive state where true healing happens.

Whether you’re seeking stress relief, emotional release, or deeper alignment, sound healing with the voice offers a gentle yet powerful path back to balance.

What does a one to one sound healing with the voice session entails?

Treatment time is split into 4 parts:

  • Consultation

A time to have an overview of your current situation and set an intention for the session.

  • Treatment

You will be lying on a massage table, fully clothed. Once you are comfortable, you will receive sounds from my voice and tuning forks, sometimes directed at certain areas of your body where energy seems stuck and sometimes directed to the whole body.

It will be intuitive sounds on vowels or specific sounds such as the Indian SAREGA scale or Bija mantra scale, depending on the protocol that seems most appropriate to you at the time.

  • Grounding

We will end the session with a grounding sound to enable to bring you back to the here and now. I might invite you to sound a low note with me to help.

You will be invited to drink plenty of water and be mindful to rest when you are tired to support the healing process.

  • Feedback

This will take place just after and in the following week after the session to check how you are doing and how things are moving for you.

Be attentive of your body sensations, your energy level, your mood and emotions and the events coming up in your life. You could decide to write things in a journal to help you notice the shifts of energy.

What does group sound healing sessions entails?

In group session, I either use my voice much like the one to one yet offering the sound to a group or I will invite you to use your own voice and the power of the added sounds of each voice to bring healing to the group.

You don’t need to know how to sing. It is not about singing but rather sounding and freeing the sound of your voice to express itself. It can be simply producing vowels or singing mantras.

These practices are found in many ancient and modern spiritual traditions.

Toning helps release tension and frees both the body and voice.

It’s time to support your healing and well-being.
